STATEMENT FROM VIRGINIANS FOR FAIR ELECTIONS CAMPAIGN MANAGER KEREN CHARLES DONGO

Richmond, VA — Following a ruling issued today in Tazewell County Circuit Court, Virginians for Fair Elections Campaign Manager Keren Charles Dongo released the following statement:

“We expect that this ruling will be immediately appealed. This is a clear attempt to confuse voters and block them from having a say. Republicans court-shopped for a ruling because litigation and misinformation are the only tools they have left. We’re prepared for what comes next, and Virginians deserve both the right to vote and the chance to level the playing field.”

Virginians for Fair Elections is a statewide, voter-led campaign working to pass a temporary, time-limited constitutional amendment that gives Virginians the final say on fair congressional maps for the 2026 election — protecting fair representation now while preserving Virginia’s bipartisan redistricting process after the next census.
