EARLY VOTING BEGINS: Virginians Voting YES to Level the Playing Field

Richmond, Va. — Early voting begins today in Virginia, as voters across the Commonwealth begin casting ballots to protect fair elections and ensure the 2026 midterms are decided by voters — not politicians.

Support for voting YES continues to grow. Yesterday, President Barack Obama endorsed the effort, urging Virginians to vote YES to defend democratic norms.

Governor Abigail Spanberger yesterday also reaffirmed her strong support, joining a broad coalition of leaders backing the measure.

Their support comes as Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans attempt to coordinate an unprecedented power grab to rig the 2026 midterm elections and maintain unchecked power in the House of Representatives for years to come. They have already pushed similar efforts in states including Texas, North Carolina, Missouri, and Florida — all without the approval of voters.

Virginia now faces a critical choice.

“This isn’t politics as usual — it’s an emergency for our democracy,” said Keren Charles Dongo, Campaign Manager for Virginians for Fair Elections. “By voting YES, Virginians can stop Trump’s power grab and ensure elections are decided by voters, not politicians.”
